Network Director - Dachser France
Can you tell us more about your company? What will be the activity at Les Arcs sur Argens?
DACHSER has been founded in Germany in 1930 and is one of the main logistics and transportation actors in Europe. DACHSER offers logistics, transportation, storage and personalized services. In 2014, our export and domestic volumes have both increased. To support the business growth, we developed an investment plan following two objectives. First we wanted to modernize and give a new dimension to our infrastructures, and we wanted to reinforce our network coverage in order to improve the proximity with clients. Les Arcs’ platform will gather together Nice and Toulon activities. This strategical implantation will enable us to offer an expanded version of our transportation map (with many direct connections to our domestic and European network) to our clients, but also to shorten our delivery times in the 83 and 06 departments. We will have two modern agencies well balanced in PACA (Arcs and Marseille).
Why did you choose the Parc des Bréguières as a location?
The Parc des Bréguières combines three geographical advantages: it is near the A8 highway, between Nice and Toulon and close to the train station. It perfectly matches our first priority which was to encourage our employees from Nice and Toulon to embrace our project by offering them better working conditions in a dynamic area. This perfect location is an amazing entry point for our industrial clients wishing to rely on our European network in order to send their goods. It is also really important for us to guarantee the safety of our clients’ goods. The security is one of the assets of the Parc des Bréguières (Barjane team on site 24/24, 7/7, controlled access and CCTV).
How does the building answer to the specific requirements of your activity?
To implement our processes and offer our customers a quality transportation service, we have a very demanding design brief for our infrastructures. Barjane was able to take into account our specific needs and constraints of quality and working conditions, moreover we shared with Barjane the same desire to reduce the environmental impact of our respective activities.
