Olivier Audibert Troin

President of La Communauté d'Agglomération Dracénoise

Monsieur le Président, can you remind us of your political career and explain your reason to support the Parc des Bréguières ?

The proposed creation of a logistics park in the district of Les Arcs-sur-Argens, in a place called Bréguières, is not new. At the time, in 2001, I was vice president of CAD and particularly a member of the Committee on Economic Development. Very quickly, I realized the importance and relevance of such a project for the development of the territory. Carrying this forward could only be guaranteed by an institution such as CAD. This is the strength of an intermunicipal organisation and to have such support, generating jobs and reputation is certainly rewarding for the Dracénie region.

At the time, why did you choose BARJANE for the planning and development of the Parc des Bréguières ?

CAD - the Communauté d’Agglomération Dracénoise- quickly defined the project’s outline. Also, the elected representatives established strict tender specifications for a model development, environmentally friendly, innovative and on a human scale. On this last point, working conditions were at the centre of our concerns. BARJANE responded to our criteria and our expectations. The vision that we had for the site was perfectly reflected in BARJANE’s proposals. Finally, in view of their previous successful completed projects, we were comfortable with our choice given that we knew we were dealing with a benchmark company with recognised and respected know-how.

In your view, what are the strengths of the park and what benefits did you see in the BARJANE team’s involvement in the project ?

It is obvious today that the “sustainable development” dimension of the park establishes an example. The construction respects the environment; the management of the green spaces is remarkable, on-site energy production thanks to PV solar panels and the adherence to environmental standards at all levels gives an extremely positive image to Bréguières. Soon, the completion of the rail branch will make a most advanced park. Employees at the site benefit from a quality of life centre, many facilities are available on-site and the number of jobs created has achieved the forecast level. The whole operation put in place by CAD and BARJANE explains why, each year, the certification and labels recognise us: the Var Ecolabel or the RSE-PACA Awards just to quote two. We imagined the outline of a vast project and BARJANE put it to music.

5 years after work began, what are your main satisfactions with regards to this operation ?

Firstly, the marketing of the site by BARJANE continues as envisaged at the start. This confirms that the idea was good and relates to the needs of our area. With regards to the companies that have established themselves at the park (LIDL, ID Logistics, la Poste and others), we are happy with the result notwithstanding an unfavourable economic environment. Today, BARJANE has followed the tender specifications and the Bréguières logistics park is a reference in the matter. Objectives have been achieved in terms of development, employment and construction. To have this in established in Dracénie is an opportunity and an asset to launch other essential operations in terms of economic dynamism. There is a satisfaction and pride in being associated with such a rewarding project which sets an example.
