Preserving biodiversity is an essential issue for BARJANE, to be integrated across all the different phases of the project and aims to minimise the impact of building operations on the local wildlife species.
BARJANE works to protect wildlife as much as possible by preserving ecological corridors within its parks or transplanting plant species which cannot be retained..
Barjane contributed to the development of biodiversity by creating an insect hotel and installing hives.
The insect hotel offers protection to different species and encourages their growth on site.
At Arcs-sur-Argens, the insect hotel was designed by the children from the outdoor centre as part of a learning project. The hives were installed by a young local beekeeper.
